Well, my little blog is a year old this week.
It is has been a fun year of learning and growing and much more. I went into this blindly not knowing much about blogging at all. I didn’t even subscribe to blogs before I started mine! I am so grateful for all of you who humor me by reading my blog and leaving such wonderfully sweet comments. It is fun to have some fuel to drive my passion and to share my creations with people who can appreciate a good bargain and a great transformation! It is a great creative outlet for me, which helps keep me sane. (I use the term sane very loosely) If I can inspire a few of you along the way to create a warm and inviting home for you and your family…even better!! That is the goal. :)
I have also learned so much from other blogs. There is so much great inspiration and encouragement out there and I am grateful for the blog friends I have encountered along the way.
One thing I have learned is to stay true to myself. It is hard to not compare ourselves to others. One of my favorite quotes is by Judy Garland… "Always be a first rate version of yourself, instead of a second rate version of someone else.” Love this. It’s so true. If I am not my authentic self then no one else ever will be…only one of me will ever exist.
Thanks for hanging out with me a bit during this little journey.
So if you keep reading my rambling posts, and probably confusing tips and tutorials… I will keep writing them! ~I may even keep writing them even if you don’t read them. I will just pretend you all tried to comment but there was some sort of Blogger error that didn’t allow you too. ;)~
I didn’t quite accomplish all I wanted in this first year, but that is OK. I have some new ideas for my blog and things I would like to do in the future.
I would love to know what *y’all would be interested in seeing…
What kind of posts of mine do you like best?
More tutorials?
More personal stuff?
I would love to hear your feedback!! Again, if you don’t give me any feedback, I will just pretend you tried to and couldn’t for some technical reason like an overload of too many comments. ;)
Also…What do you think of the new look?! I. LOVE. IT. It feels so fresh and open and just lovely. By the way, The Blog Fairy is awesome to work with and as you can see, very talented :)
P.S. To show my love and appreciation for my wonderful readers I may be having my very first giveaway! Ahhh! What do ya think?
Thanks again!
*I lived in Texas for two years so I can say y’all. ;)
Good morning,
ReplyDeleteI don't comment very often, because I am lazy
:^(, but I check your blog every day and I am so impressed with what you do and your design philosophy!!! You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure MANY others! My favorite posts to read are the ones that show me pictures of what you/others of your choosing, have done that is "doable" by a person such as myself! We love having a beautiful "Gathering Place" of our own, but lack the "vision". You come along with beautiful pictures, and yep....I can be inspired....ahem......make that ummmm copy..... wonderfully well ;^)(and I always appreciate the tutorials!)
Thank you for the time and effort you put into your blog, and please keep on keepin' on and being true to YOU! (and very enjoyable for ME!)
The blogs I love the most usually have a mix of personal spaces (I love seeing how other people live!), tutorials and inspirational projects. That's at least what I try to feature on my blog. I enjoy reading your blog, and loooove your wreaths (I bought a spring wreath from you =)
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog because you have a different eye than other bloggers out there. Right now the shabby chic look is in (whites, grays, light blues) but that isn't my style nor very functional for my home (hello I don't want to constantly have to clean because my entire house is white). I love how you use color: reds, yellows, greens, natural wood. I also enjoy how you take photos of your own home to give us inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the One Year mark and the new look is beautiful. Very clean, but warm and lovely! I love that it's not all cluttered up. Inspiring!
ReplyDeleteNew look is great! Who did your design if you don't mind me asking? Thanks, Laura of Finding Home
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Krista! I always enjoy your blog. Thought I was a follower all along and just found out that I wasn't. Fixed that in a hurry.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Rene
Thank you for taking the time to leave me some feedback! All of your kind words are very appreciated:) I am glad you all like the new look! Oh, and there is a link to my blog designer in the post. Emily The Blog Fairy.:)
